MaShawn Plummer Death: Chicago Firefighter, MaShawn Plummer dies from injuries sustained while fighting an apartment fire in NW.

MaShawn Plummer was injured while firefighters responded to a basement fire in the 3100 block of North Marmora Avenue in the Belmont Central neighborhood, on Thursday, December 16. Unfortunately Plummer died on Tuesday.

He was 30 years old.

Plummer joined the Fire Department last year December, recently clocking one year as a Chicago firefighter. He was assigned to Engine 94 firehouse located In Portage Park.

“On behalf of the Willow Springs Police Department our hearts go out the the family, friends, and colleagues of Chicago Firefighter Mashawn Plummer, who died tragically from injuries he suffered in a structure fire in the Belmont/Central community last week,” Willow Springs Police Department shared.

“Sending our deepest condolences to our first responder friends in the Chicago Fire Department and to all the courageous men and women who serve as firefighters across the country.”

“Thoughts and prayers to FF Plummer and his Family and for the entire Chicago Fire Department regarding such a tragic loss.
