Medina Dixon Death: Old Dominion University Basketball Hall of Famer is dead at 59

Medina Dixon Death – Cause of Death: Hall of Famer, Medina Dixon passed away on Monday, November 8 after battle with pancreatic cancer, ODU Athletics department announced.

She had just clocked 59 on November 2nd.

Dixon was an American basketball player born in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a member of the United States women’s national basketball team during the late 1980s and the early 1990s. She won three medals during her international career.

Dixon helped lead Old Dominion to its third national championship in 1985 and was Sun Belt Player of the Year, a First Team Kodak All-American and a finalist for the Naismith Player of the Year award, ODU Athletics department said.
 
She was the top American scorer at the 1992 Olympics as the United States took home bronze.
