Rhonda Russell Death: Blair County corrections officer killed following struggle over firearm at Altoona’s Central Court building

Rhonda Russell Death – Cause of Death: Blair County corrections officer, Rhonda Russell was shot and killed following struggle over firearm at Altoona’s Central Court building on Wednesday.

Around 3 p.m. at the Central Court building at 615 4th Street in Altoona 47-year-old Blair County Prison Correctional Officer, Rhonda Russell was shot.

It happened when 54-year-old Christopher James Aikens, a prisoner at Blair County Jail who was to appear in Central Court for a hearing unharmed Russell following a struggle and a police officer who in an attempt to defend Russell, shot her.

Russell was tranaported to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Altoona where she was later pronounced dead.
