Samuel Harkins Death – Cause of Death: Longtime resident of Red Hook, NY, Samuel Harkins passed away on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

According to his Sam’s obituary, he was an avid golfer, a decade’s long member of the Red Hook Golf Club and a faithful participant in the Tuesday Night Supper Club.

He also served on the RHGC Board of Directors and was Past President. Sam was an original member of the Hourihan Challenge Cup- a golfing society consisting of members of the RHGC versus Hourihan Golf Society in Ireland.

Sam also worked as the Code Enforcement Officer with the Village of Red Hook (formerly) and was the CEO for the Towns of Clermont, Germantown, Milan, & Livingston before his death.

“Sad to hear of the passing of Sam Harkins. I served with Sam on the Red Hook Planning Board for a number of years,” Kristofer Munn shared. “His background in code enforcement was always very helpful in our reviews and he was a pleasure to work with. Red Hook will miss Sam.”

Sam’s cause of death was not disclosed.
