JAMB Announces date for Commencement of Registration for 2021 UTME

The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board today 24th March, 2021 announced

April 8th as the commencement date for the registration for 2021 UTME and June 5th as the commencement date for the Examination proper.


Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB wishes to inform the general public that the body will commence registration/sales of from for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME.

The examination body has fixed APRIL 8th as the kick-off date for the registration and JUNE 5th as the kick-off date for the examinations.


Here are some important dates to keep note of if you are an intending JAMBITE:

  1. April 8th,2021- Registration begins
  2. April 30th, 2021 – Mock Examinations for those that show interest and are registered before April 24th, 2021.
  3. June 5th – 19th, 2021 – UTME Examinations at various CBT centers.


The cost of forms stays at three thousand- five hundred only (N3,500.00) and an additional five hundred naira (N500.00) for mandatory purchase of reading text.


The registration portal is not open until April, 8th, once it is open and the modalities for registration are updated, we will be the first to let you know.

Registration is done at JAMB accredited CBT Centers across the country, choose any close to you and register for the examinations.

N/B Do not perform this registration at a cyber- cafe to avoid being scammed or unnecessary mistakes in your details. The exam body has emphasized the need to register at the accredited CBT centers.


  •  National Identification Number (NIN): Based on previous reports, NIN may likely be a compulsory requirement for the 2021 UTME/DE registration. Incase you do not have yours yet and you intend to register for the 2021 UTME/DE, we advise you quickly get it ready. We earlier provided a step-by-step procedure on how you can acquire NIN.
  • Decide on Course of Study: Deciding on the course you intend to study is one of the things you should do now before the registration begins. This is because you need time to think before settling down for a career/course. You shouldn’t pick any course. It has to be a course you have passion as well as academic aptitude for. You can get help from the JAMB Brochure or from the Institution of choice website on the availability of the course and the subject combination.
  •  Decide on Institution of Study: Just like in choosing a course, you need to equally know beforehand the institution you want to apply for. Your criteria in choosing one should be based on whether the – school offers the course you intend to study, – the admission requirements of the school, – the school fees as well as other personal preferences.
  • Know the subject combination for your course: A lot of students make this mistake by choosing the wrong subject combinations for their course.  If you want to avoid any form of mistake, use JAMB Brochure to see the required subject combination for the various courses before registration begins.
  • Ask for Guidance: If for any reason you are confused and need guidance may be regarding the choice of course or school, UTME/O’level subject combination etc.
  • Finally, Study, Study and Study because this is the only way to success in this examinations

Mock Exam: The Mock examination will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 for those who indicate interest and are registered before April 24, 2021.
