Carol J. Maurer Death, Obituary – Cause Of Death

After a sudden, brief illness, Carol passed away on June 14, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. In Odessa, Washington, on February 2, 1940, she was born to Fred and Esther Becker. She went to school and completed her education at Harrington High School. On July 25, 1959, in Harrington, Washington, she later wed Donald “Bud” Maurer. Before coming to Moses Lake, Washington, with Bud, she spent 37 years farming and runningching with her husband in the Harrington and Davenport region. She relocated to Moscow, Idaho, where she lived until her dying, shortly after her husband’s death. Along with helping her husband on the farm and ranch, Carol loved gardening, crocheting, and other hobbies. She always said that she developed a firm grip when milking cows as a young child while living on a farm.

Rita (Jim) Bergevin, Daniel (Leslie), and Dennis (Jessie) Maurer are Carol’s three surviving children. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Joey (Cassie) Bergevin, Charli (Dillon) Holmes, Katie (Dylan Johnson), and Sarah Maurer, as well as her five great-grandchildren, Luke, Holly, Spencer, Jimmy, and Jaycee Holmes. Her parents, sister Janice, and husband Bud all passed away before her in 1995, 2015, and respectively. On Monday, June 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM, graveside services will be place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrington, Washington. Donors may designate a memorial fund of their choosing.
