We regret to inform you that Esterlyn Byars (Louisville, Kentucky), who was born in Allensville, Kentucky, passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 100. Flowers and sympathy messages can be sent to the family or posted on this memorial page and shared with the family.
Her siblings, Georgia Mae Dickerson, Evelyn Byars, Warren Shamell, and Louise Wilson also predeceased her, in addition to her parents, John Shamell and Melinda Forte, her children, Ora May, John Ester, Dorothy Nell, and Garner Ezell.
Her children include Katie Bee Nelson, Forgenia Turner (Robert), Angela Byars, James Edward Byars, Jr. (Otha), Malachi, Khalia, Reagan, Bryson, Braylon, Zuriaha, and McKinley. She is also survived by her husband, John William Byars; her uncle, Robert Lee; her children-in-law, Yulonger Byars, Francine Byars, and Wiley Nelson; her grandchildren, James Edwards She also has a grandson on the way as well as other nieces, nephews, and relatives left behind.
Visitation will take place at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church on February 18, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (1213 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40210). On Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at 12:00 PM, a reception will be hosted there.
