Gabe Serbian, the Locust Drummer died on April 30, 2022, at the age of 45. The Locust announced the news on Twitter and wrote, “It is with deep hearts that we announce Serbian’s death on April 30th, 2022.”
“Gabe will be missed as a friend, family member, musician, and artist in this world. He will live on in a variety of ways and via everyone, he met during his time with us.”
Gabe Serbian, the Locust drummer was just 45 when he passed away on April 30, 2022. Serbian is a drummer and guitarist from the United States, best known for his work with The Locust, Cattle Decapitation, and Holy Molar.
He is also a member of the hardcore/punk music ensemble Head Wound City. His band was one of the most unusual, furious, and important bands to emerge from the fertile San Diego rock scene of the 1990s.
Gabe grew up in a suburban nightmare where he encounters metal and punk. He used to skip skipping school to play drums, wrecking an enemy’s house, and how becoming a parent altered his life.
Gabe Serbian was married to his sweetheart, whom he had known since they were fourteen years old. According to an interview, his wife told, “they first met in 1995 when she was 14 years old.”
Her family had recently relocated from the “small town” of New Hampshire to the “shitty suburb” of San Diego. “Gabe approached her in a secondhand store and inquired about my thoughts on his purchases, “she recalled their first encounter.
They quickly became friends and see each other every day after school at the neighborhood record store. She described her meeting, “He’d choose records for me. On weekends, he’d take me to see shows. For my 15th birthday, I’m pretty sure he gave me Bikini Kill’s All American Reject.”
Finally, they married in Los Angeles in 2011.
