Late Ancile Gloudon Wife, Barbara Gloudon is Dead, Cause of Death Explained

Jamaican journalist, Barbara Gloudon was living together with her husband, Ancile Gloudon until he passed away. Jamaica Gleaner reported.

Ancile Gloudon, who was 89 years old, died on Saturday. After experiencing low oxygen levels, he was brought to the hospital. Ancile is best known for being the husband of Barbara, a Jamaican playwright, and broadcaster.

Veteran journalist and radio broadcaster Barbara Gloudon wife of Ancile Gloudon has died. Mrs Gloudon passed away last night in hospital, days after her husband, Ancile Gloudon. “Mom’s gone looking for her husband,” her daughter Anya said.

Barbara Gloudon is a journalist, author, writer, and theatre chair of Afro-Jamaican descent. Gloudon was the chair of the LTM after thirty years of hosting a radio talk program.

She has a distinguished career as a journalist, for which she received two Seprod Awards from the Press Association of Jamaica, as well as being an officer in the Order of Distinction.

Barbara was born to Doris and Vivian M. Goodison in Malvern, Saint Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica. Goodison grew up in a middle-class family where her father worked as a chauffeur and mechanic.

Ancile Gloudon was awarded the Order of Jamaica in 1992 and became a fellow of the Institute of Jamaica in 2012. He has earned various accolades and honors.

Ancile Gloudon, a Trinidadian, is a former performer, former president of the orchid society in town, and a long-time member of Andrews Memorial SDA Church.

Murray told The Gleaner that his death came as a shock to him and that he is still grieving. Adrian Johnson, the head pastor of Andrews Memorial SDA, praised Gloudon as “a father amongst us.”

He was also a dedicated Seventh-day Adventist and a long-time musician at Andrews Memorial Church. He was also lauded for his role as a mentor to many people.
