IJMB is a Federal Government Educational Programme that is motivated, controlled and run by Amadu Bello University, Zaria. IJMBE is an advanced-level educational programme that qualifies a candidate to secure admission into 200 Level in any Nigeria and Foreign Universities through Direct Entry.
IJMB is fully certified by Nigeria University Commission (NUC) as an A’level program that serves as a mode of entry into the university today, statistically, as its provides a unique platform for realizing the dream of university education-even in a more efficient way than JAMB because it aids in securing admission into 200 LEVEL upon completion of the programme.
Interested IJMB Candidate are expected to select any THREE (3) A/L SUBJECTS (English Compulsory) related to their course of study in the university. Candidates would then be lectured on these subjects for a period of 9month and then write the final examination. On completion of the programme, Candidates can, therefore, use their IJMB result to secure admission into 200 level in any Nigerian university via Direct Entry. How many years can IJMB result be used?
IJMB result takes about seven (7) Years before it expires this means you can seek admission with an IJMB result or certificate for a good 7 years before it expires. At least you will have a lot of time to prepare for any admission you are seeking for.
What is the difference between Jupeb and IJMB?
IJMB and JUPEB are ACCREDITED by the Nigerian University Council as advanced level programmes for direct entry admission into 200 level.
Both programmes are run within one year academic calendar (between 9-12 months). JUPEB and IJMB offers you admission into 200 level of any department in Nigerian universities.
- Moderation:IJMB is under the control of the Ahmadu Bello University while JUPEB is being moderated by the University of Lagos.
- Fees: IJMB fees is far cheaper than JUPEB. the cost of studying for IJMB anywhere in Nigeria is between N70,000 in public centers and N180,000 in some private institutions, while the cost for JUPEB ranges between N280,000 and N450,000 in any JUPEB affiliated institutions. Also, application form for IJMB is less than N7,000 while JUPEB is upto N25,000 .
- POPULARITY: In terms of popularity, IJMB is a well-known programme all over Nigeria, it has been in existence since the year 1976 and so many notable Nigerians did IJMB during their undergraduate days. JUPEB, on the other hand, is a newly introduced programme of less than 5 years as at the time of writing this report, although it is experiencing rapid growth all over the country.
- EXAMINATIONS: IJMB exams are conducted every February while JUPEB is done by MAY.
