Gregory Brent Dennis, a psychologist from Henderson, was detained in 2017 on suspicion of killing his wife Susan Winters, who had passed away from antifreeze poisoning nearly two years before. The case, which was initially classified as a suicide, eventually took an unexpected turn when the cause of death was reclassified from suicide to an unknown.
What Happened to Susan Winters?
Dennis is accused of poisoning his wife in order to collect over $1 million in life insurance payouts and inheritance money for his drug habit. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the murder of his wife in 2015, and was sentenced to prison earlier this year in May after submitting an Alford plea.
He is currently completing his three to ten-year prison sentence.
