Devon Northrup and Morgan Russell Obituary: In loving memory of South Simcoe Police officers killed in Innisfil shooting.

Const. Morgan Russell, 54, and Const. Devon Michael Northrup, 33, of the South Simcoe Police Service, died last week after they were shot while responding to a call about a disturbance at a home in Innisfil, Ontario.

On Friday, October 21, 2022, South Simcoe Police acting Chief John Van Dyke released an appreciation message for the support shown to the police service, as they mourn the tragic loss of beloved officers.

On behalf of all members of the South Simcoe Police Service, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us get through these unimaginably difficult days.

The incredible support we have received from so many following the sudden, devastating loss of our beloved Constables Morgan Russell and Devon Michael Northrup, has given us strength and reminded us all of the true gift that is compassion.

Today we take an important pause to share our gratitude with those who stepped up and stepped in during our time of intense grief and anguish.
