Austrian billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz, the co-founder of energy drink company Red Bull and founder and owner of the Red Bull Formula One racing team, has died. He was 78.
The Red Bull racing team officials at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, announced Mateschitz’s death on Saturday, October 22, 2022. His cause of death was not disclosed.
Mateschitz was the co-founder and 49% owner of Red Bull GmbH. As of October 2021, Mateschitz’s net worth was estimated at US$25.4 billion.
