Tom Hoover Obituary – Cause of Death: Legendary drag racer Tom “Showtime” Hoover passes away.
Tom is a true legend in the sport of drag racing, a Minnesota legend.
Tom Hoover passed peacefully with his wife, Betten at his side on Friday, October 21st, 2022. He had been in declining health, report says.
The Hoover Family, and their many “Showtime” dragsters and funny cars raced at the very highest level within the sport for many decades, earning Hall of Fame recognition.
“Sad news….we lost a Minnesota Drag Racing legend last night. A great loss to the sport and the local drag racing community! R.I.P. Tom Hoover…GSTA bought 2 of Tom’s dragsters back in 1964 and 1965,” – Gopher State Timing Association.
