Zane Byrd Dallas Obituary – Cause of Death: Highland Park HS student-athlete, Zane Byrd dies unexpectedly.
Zane joined the HPHS family as a sophomore and was active with the lacrosse team.
According to an online obituary, Zane died by suicide over the weekend. He was a wonderful young man and will always be remembered.
The HP High School Principal released a statement following the tragic incident;
Dear Parents
It is with tremendous sadness that I share with you the news about the death of HPHS senior Zane Byrd. We learned this weekend that he died by suicide. We are deeply saddened by what has occurred and I know you join me in extending our hearts and sympathy to the Byrd family and all those who knew Zane, the statement read in part.
Monday morning during first period, a statement will be read to students by our teachers regarding the loss of Zane. We will also have resource information for support available to students.
Words fall short of expressing our grief for your loss, as we mourn with family and friends for this great loss. We are truly sorry to hear of the loss of this promising being. Please accept our condolences and may our prayers help comfort you. Please receive our heartfelt condolences.
