Activer Shooter Inside Medical Examiner Dallas, 2 Victim Confirmed Dead

According to detectives, a murder-suicide shooting occurred inside the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday, leaving two people dead, according to the authorities.

Before 5 o’clock in the evening, according to a Dallas police spokesman speaking to NBC 5, officers were responding to reports of an active shooter at the Dallas County Medical Examiner facility, which is situated near the 2300 block of North Stemmons Freeway.

Judge Clay Jenkins of Dallas County told reporters outside the structure that it appeared an armed individual shot and killed someone before turning the gun on themselves about 30 minutes later.

Jenkins declared that the public was no longer in danger.

As a precaution, Jenkins said, officers were searching the structure as well as the nearby Dallas County Health and Human Services building. The occupants of both buildings had left.

Following notification of the families, the names of the deceased will be made public, according to Jenkins. He further stated that employees will be given access to grief counselors.
