Annette Hellbusch Car Accident: Woman in critical condition following two-vehicle crash north of Columbus.

According to reports, deputies from the Platte County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries at the intersection of 53rd St and 48th Ave. at approximately 6:57 PM on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Upon officers arrival at the scene, preliminary investigations revealed a 1994 Chevy van, driven by 61-year-old Dan Hellbusch of Columbus, had been traveling southbound on 48th Ave. and a 2018 Chevy Traverse, driven by 31-year-old Ramon Grado Saenz of Columbus, had been traveling northbound on 48th Ave.

At the intersection of 53rd St., the Traverse driven by Saenz began making a turn westbound onto 53rd St. at which time the vehicles collided. Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage, authorities said.

58-year-old Annette Hellbusch 58 of Columbus, a passenger in the 1994 Chevy van was transported by Columbus Rescue to the Columbus Community Hospital, where she was later transported by medical helicopter to University of Nebraska Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

No other occupants in either vehicle was injured.
