Members of Dodge-City bound Selena tribute band “Los Chicos del 512,” Ricardo Madrid and Leo Neblina has died following a road traffic collision on Friday, November 18.
The band would perform at United Wireless Arena Friday night, when its tour bus hit black ice southwest of Dodge City earlier that day.
Madrid was director and keyboardist of the group, and Neblina, a bassist.
“My goodness, the Yuma and Somerton communities have suffered two tremendous losses. R.I.P. Ricardo Madrid and Leo Papo Neblina. Thank you for filling our hearts with your incredible talent and beautiful music. You’ll forever be in our hearts. 🙏 Abrazos hasta el cielo amigos,” a tribute post shared on Facebook read.
There are currently no details concerning the circumstances surrounding the crash, as investigations are ongoing.
Madrid had been employed with the Somerton School District for more than 20 years. He headed the Adult Education department in the district.
Neblina was employed by the Gadsden School District, in Yuma County, where he was a music teacher and served as director of the Mariachi band.
