Al Strobel Obituary News – Cause of Death: Actor, ‘Twin Peaks’ Philip Gerard, Al Strobel Dies At 83.
Actor, Albert Michael Strobel was best known for his recurring role on David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks as Philip Gerard.
The Twin Peaks UK Festival on Saturday, December 3rd, announced the passing of Al Strobel, via a social media post.
“Dear Al Strobel has passed away,” the post read. “This is a very sad day Peakies. Not only was Al a huge part of our Twin Peaks world, but he was also a dear friend to the Twin Peaks UK Festival.”
Strobel passed away on Friday, December 2nd. His cause of death was not disclosed.
Strobel was born in Seattle, Washington. He lost one of his arms as a result of a car crash he sustained when he was 17 years old. While living in Oregon in the early 1970s he did theatrical work at the University of Oregon and co-founded the Church of the Creative. At the Grateful Dead’s August 27, 1972 concert in Veneta he shot video which ended up in the film Sunshine Daydream.
He appeared in the Twin Peaks series as well as Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and had roles in the films Shadow Play, Megaville and Ricochet River (starring Kate Hudson).
