Andrew Marzuco, Mallory Carter and Audrey Smith Car Accident: 3 Students from Newman Center at SEMO dies following I55 crash; 3 others injured

*UPDATE: Authorities identify three killed in a solo-crash on I-55 in Scott County Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol have now identified the deceased victims in the crash as; 20-year-old Andrew Marzuco of Ste. Genevieve, 19-year-old Mallory Carter of Brighton, Illinois and 20-year-old Audrey Smith of Bridgeton, Mo.

Three others injured were identified as; 22-year-old Grace Makowski of St. Louis, 20-year-old Maria Marzuco of Ste. Genevieve (Andrew’s twin sister) and 24-year-old Katherine Nations of Chesterfield.

They were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

The patrol says the crash happened when a northbound 2002 Ford F150 driven by Smith swerved to miss an animal on the road, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

According to reports on Sunday, December 4, 2022, three of six students from Newman Center at SEMO who were involved in a “tragic” road traffic collision on Saturday night have died from their injuries.

Three other students sustained non-life threatening injuries from the crash which happened on I-55, report says.

There are currently no details concerning the circumstances surrounding the crash, as investigations are ongoing.

The victims are yet to be identified.
