One of South Korea’s largest entertainment conglomerates, JYP Entertainment, made the announcement that Jinni would be leaving the girl group NMIXX on December 9, 2022, citing “personal circumstances.”
Seven people made up the group at first: Jinni, Lily, Sullyoon, Haewon, Jiwoo, Kyujin, and BAE.

Why Did Jinni Leave NMIXX
The news that Jinni has quit the relatively new female group was broken by Soompi and the Korean pop culture site provided JYP Entertainment’s statement.
Jinni would be departing the firm and the agency due to “personal issues,” according to JYP, but the group will still participate in all of their planned activities as a “six-member group.”
“We ask that you give loads of encouragement to Jinni, who will be treading a new route, and that NSWER [NMIXX’s fans] give their warm support to the six members who will continue to grow and race towards their aspirations,” the rest of the statement said.
There was no additional information provided regarding Jinni’s motives for leaving or any future plans.
NMIXX entered the K-pop industry at the beginning of 2022, but they made an immediate impact and quickly became quite successful.
In January 2022, JYP first revealed the group’s name, the identities of the females, and their social media accounts through a brief teaser video.
Ad Mare, their first single, was released in February 2022 and peaked at number 35 on Spotify’s list of the most widely streamed K-pop songs of the year.
The trio played internationally, at the KCON 2020 premiere in Chicago, and took the stage at the 2022 MAMA Awards just months after making their debut.

Choi Yun Jin, better known as Jinni, was born in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea, on April 16, 2004.
Before beginning her career with NMIXX, she reportedly trained with JYP for six years. According to Koreaboo, fans first noticed her at the JYP Trainee Showcase in 2016.
In 2019, the K-pop star was also a part of Nichkhun’s Lucky Charm music video for 2PM.
In a video JYP released in August 2021 prior to the official launch of NMIXX, Jinni performed the Cardi B song Press along with Kyujin and Jiwoo.
NMIXX fans are devastated by the news of Jinni’s departure from the rookie girl group and confused by how abrupt it has been.
