Layla Julien Obituary – Death: University of St. Thomas Community Mourns Death of Student: According to an online obituary on Friday, December 16, 2022, Layla Julien has passed away unexpectedly. However, cause of death was not disclosed.

Layla Julien, a first-year student majoring in business administration and communication, died on December 13 after a battle with cancer, and the University of St. Thomas community is in grief.

During her senior year of high school at Minnetonka High School, Julien received the news that she had a malignant brain tumor. As expected, Julien continued his education this fall at the University of St. Thomas.

According to Julien’s family, she enjoyed being one of the campus’ newest Tommies and would return as soon as physically possible following her different therapies.

“We are deeply saddened by this news and grateful that Layla chose to share her time as a college student with us,” said Linda Baughman, dean of students at St. Thomas. “In conversations with Layla’s family, we learned how important it was to her that she attend college, and how much she enjoyed her time as a Tommie.”
