Christopher Means Death – Obituary: According to MPD, Christopher Means, 29, was the motorcyclist in the collision that happened this morning.
According to the authorities, Means lost control of his motorcycle on the Southbound I-65 to Eastbound I-10 ramp, was knocked off the bike, and was hit by several cars.
Police claim that Means was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department has confirmed that a fatality has occurred as a consequence of an accident involving a motorbike and another vehicle on Interstate 10 Eastbound in Mobile this morning.
This occurred soon before 6 a.m. on I-10 close to I-65. Police in Mobile are looking into it.
While emergency personnel attended to many crashes, eastbound traffic on I-10 was temporarily stopped. Another one occurred close to Rangeline Road, temporarily blocking multiple lanes.
The following tweet from ALDOT to drivers was sent at 9:03 a.m.: “I-10 Fatal Crash Update: I-10 EB is closed and all traffic is detoured to I-65 NB. It is anticipated that it will take a few more hours to clear the route. Exits 15-B Govt. Blvd. and 17-A Rangeline Rd can also be used by drivers to get to U.S. 90.
I-10 Fatal Crash Update: We currently have the left lane of I-10 Eastbound open, according to a tweet from ALDOT at 10:07 a.m. I-65 South remains closed to I-10 Eastbound. Crews need about 30 minutes to clear the road.
