John Stephens, Doreen Wood, and Kurtis Acker Obituary News – Car Accident: Victims identified in Newark Valley fatal car accident.
After being struck by an SUV on Wednesday morning in Newark Valley, three people died and one person remains in critical condition.
It occurred on State Road 38 between Brown and Wilson Creek roads before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office. Four people were struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe being operated by an 18-year-old, according to the Sheriff Gary Howard’s office.
Three residents of Newark Valley, John Stephens, 66, Doreen Wood, 52, and Kurtis Acker, 25, perished. In Syracuse’s Upstate Medical Center, a fourth person, a 27-year-old Newark Valley woman, was listed in critical condition.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver assisted with the inquiry.
