Kathryn Hill Car Accident: Driver sentenced in 2020 crash that killed passenger in Coquitlam; Ryan Stayner Sentence.
After getting into an accident in Coquitlam, B.C., in August 2020, a man was given a conditional sentence of two years and one day.
After his truck crashed on the westbound off-ramp to Highway 1 on Brunette Avenue on the evening of August 16, Ryan Stayner was charged with driving recklessly and causing death.
Stayner’s passenger was a 30-year-old woman from Surrey named Kathryn Hill. She died a few days after the accident from the wounds she got.
Kelly Hill, Kathyrn’s mother, said that this whole thing has been painful and that her heart is now broken.
They said they didn’t know how Stayner and Kathryn knew each other, what their relationship was, or where they were going that night.
