According to comments on social media, American actress Cassie Davis died on February 4, 2023. She was best known for her role as Ella Payne on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and its spin-off series The Paynes. Lung cancer was found to be what killed Cassie. Since 2010, she has also been known as Betty Ann “Aunt Bam” Murphy in the Madea movies. She has been in a number of other shows that Tyler Perry has put on.
Davis was born on July 31, 1964, in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He went to Spelman College in Atlanta to study music. She only got one credit in college before she dropped out because she couldn’t play any religious music at her senior recital. Davis went back to Spelman in 2008 to finish her degree. She got her diploma in November of that year. She has said that her new, strong Christian faith is the main reason for her success as a professional.
Davis’s first role was in the Spike Lee comedy School Daze, in which he played a supporting role. In her early days on TV, she was a guest star on Living Single, Married… with Children, Kenan & Kel, and The PJs. Madea’s Family Reunion, Madea Goes to Jail, Daddy’s Little Girls, Madea’s Big Happy Family, Boo! A Madea Halloween, and A Madea Family Funeral were all Tyler Perry movies in which she played a role.
