William “Chilly” Farrell Obituary News: Finglas United Youth FC mourns the loss of longtime member William “Chilly” Farrell.
It is with great sadness that Finglas United have to announce the very sad news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, William “Chilly” Farrell.
Chilly has been with the club for almost 30 years, having first managed a number of teams and for the past 25 years has worked behind the scenes on the club’s fundraising and weekly lotto committee.
A man that knew his own mind, in typical “Chilly” fashion he did everything for the club without any pomp or ceremony and was there week in and week out to help the club in his own inimitable way. His loss will be sadly felt by all that worked alongside him throughout the years as a true friend.
He leaves us with memories that will never be forgotten. He has left an indelible imprint on those left behind and on those he worked for over the years. Friends, they say, are the family we select and our Club “family” was enriched and all the better for having Chilly in it.
Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with Chilly’s family, especially his wife Trish, his sons Stephen & Paul & their partners, Amy & Rebekah, his two adoring grandsons, Rian & Arlo and all Chilly’s family and large circle of lifelong friends.
