James Bailey Death: In response to weather-related incidents on Friday, a state trooper from Indiana was hit by a car and killed.
James Bailey, a trooper with the Indiana State Police, was called to many crashes close to Fort Wayne that were caused by the weather.
According to state police, a car that was eluding Fort Wayne police was speeding into his location. According to authorities, Bailey attempted to use stop sticks to end the pursuit, but was struck by the suspect’s automobile and suffered serious injuries. He passed away after being transferred to a neighboring hospital.
Friday afternoon, a rapidly moving snowstorm dumped a lot of wet, slushy snow on Northwest Indiana, making the roads sloppy and dangerous.
About 15 years had passed since Trooper Bailey joined the Indiana State Police. His wife and two kids have survived him.
