Lee Ellis, a Round Top resident and a formerly active and significant figure in Houston’s restaurant industry, passed away at the age of 63, on Monday.
He passed away on Tuesday morning, according to Lisa Gochman, a longtime friend and former publicist. There was no information on the actual cause of death.
The Houston Chronicle reported in 2018 that Ellis left Cherry Pie Hospitality and relocated to Round Top, where he eventually opened the Round Top Smokehouse and Ellis Motel nightclub.
