Shortly after 3:30 on a Sunday morning, a tragic auto collision took place. Unknown male victim was strolling on the right side of Southwest 18th Street in Boca Raton, Florida, which is close to Military Trail. A motor vehicle traveling westbound on the street started to pull into the right turn lane as the victim was crossing across the right through lane and the right turn lane of the roadway.
The victim was struck by the car’s 29-year-old Boca Raton resident driver. The driver afterwards admitted to police officers that the victim made a rapid movement in front of the car and that there was no way to predict it or stop the vehicle in time to avoid collision.
According to an official police investigation, the vehicle made an attempt to swerve to the left of the road before the collision. Thus, the right front corner of the car hit the pedestrian. The victim was thrown off the top of the car and onto the ground when the pedestrian struck the windshield with such force.
The driver stopped the car and called 911 to call the police in the area. Following the pedestrian mishap, emergency medical personnel flocked to the site but were unable to save the victim’s life. At the scene, the person was pronounced dead.
