Gloria Bosman, award-winning jazz singer and songwriter has reportedly passed away according to multiple reports. Gloria dies at the age of 50, her death was announced on March 14, 2023.
Bosman joined the board of directors of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) a month ago, according to a press release.
Bosman was a jazz, African, rock, and gospel vocalist who was born in Soweto. She was a skilled producer, composer, and presenter as well.
Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa, Tananas, and Sipho Mabuse are just a few of the musical luminaries who have performed on stage with Bosman. Her first album, Tranquillity, received nominations for Best Modern Jazz Album and Best Female Artist at the 2001 SAMA Awards and won Best Newcomer at the same ceremony. Her subsequent five albums have all been a resounding success.
She received nominations for Best Southern African Artist and Most Promising Female Artist at the prestigious KORA Awards of 2001, as well as a SAMA nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album, for her second album, The Many Faces Of Gloria Bosman, which featured collaborations with some of the best musicians in South Africa.
