Mariah Hussain and Kiara has been identified by the authorities as the victim involved in a fatal car crash in Birmingham yesterday evening.
Ambulance and fire crews rushed to the scene along with the police. They was then transferred to hospital where they died of their injuries.
West Midlands police said the bus driver was currently helping them with their enquiries.
PC Gail Arnold, a spokeswoman for the police force, said: “A young girl has tragically died and we’ll be doing all we can to support her family during this deeply distressing time.”
Police have appealed to the public to come forward and contact them if they have any information on the accident.
“We’re working to establish the circumstances behind the collision and we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and especially anyone with dashcam footage,” PC Arnold added.
National Express West Midlands confirmed that one of their buses and drives were involved in the incident.
