Kendall Ross Car Accident: Charlotte chef killed in car accident on Central Avenue; Alejandro Gomez arrest & charges.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a well-known executive chef from Charlotte perished in a Plaza Midwood vehicle accident on Central Avenue on Saturday.
The Hyundai was pushed off the road and into a power pole by the driver of a Nissan Sentra, who police claim was speeding and intoxicated.
Kendall Ross, the driver of the Hyundai, was reported dead at the site by the paramedics.
Lillian Hennes, his wife, was trapped in the passenger seat when emergency personnel had to break the car apart to free her. They then transported her to the hospital with potentially fatal wounds. According to his Instagram, Ross was a corporate executive chef who most recently oversaw a kitchen for the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. He worked as a traveling cook for Rod Stewart and Ed Sheeran.
According to CMPD, the Nissan’s driver and his passenger received minor injuries and were sent to the hospital.
According to CMPD, police detained and accused the driver of the Nissan, Alejandro Gomez, 23, with felony vehicular death, assault with a deadly weapon, and careless driving.
