A deadly accident occurred in Dauphin County on Thursday afternoon, and Pennsylvania State Police are looking into it.
At the scene of the collision, Lykens resident Matthew D. Napoleoni, 44, was declared dead.
The collision occurred on March 16 at 4:09 p.m. on Route 225 near Armstrong Valley Road and Mountain House Road in Jackson Township while one car was going south and the other was going north.
The first vehicle, an SUV, was in the left southbound lane and made a left turn, crossing the northbound lane as it did. It was carrying two people, including Napoleoni in the passenger seat.
The SUV’s front passenger side was struck by the tractor-trailer when it made this bend in front of it.
The tractor-trailer also stopped along the east shoulder of the road as the SUV came to a final stop there.
The SUV’s driver was seriously hurt and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. At the site, Napoleoni’s death was confirmed. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed.
