A 51-year-old man from Santa Ana was recognized Friday after his motorcycle crashed into a railing and overturned on Interstate 10 in Thousand Palms, killing him.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Adolph Madrid was fatally hurt on eastbound I-10 close to Monterey Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Madrid’s hometown was not immediately made public.
According to the agency, he was riding his 2021 Harley-Davidson while on the interstate with a group of other bikers.
According to the CHP, while swerving in the fast lane, Madrid’s Harley collided with the center median railing, causing the vehicle to flip, which sent Madrid and his 49-year-old passenger onto the road.
Madrid’s bike was directly behind a 2012 Harley-Davidson being driven by a 56-year-old man who lost control in the original collision, according to authorities. The victim’s Harley also overturned on the motorway.
Madrid was brought to Rancho Mirage’s Eisenhower Medical Center, where he passed away less than an hour later. His passenger was critically hurt, and she was receiving treatment on Friday at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
