Rodney Frenette of Moncton New Brunswick, passed away at the age of 56 on Tuseday, March 28, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.
Rodney was the son of Paul Frenette of Petit Rocher, NB and the late Beulah Frenette (née Harquail) of Dalhousie, NB.
The death of a worker at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton, New Brunswick, is being looked into by the New Brunswick Police Serious Crime Unit.
According to Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP, on March 4 at around 12:50 a.m., officers of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of an assault on Casino Drive.
According to Ouellette in an email, a 56-year-old Moncton resident was sent to the hospital with what were deemed to be critical wounds.
As a result of the wounds, the man passed away on March 28 in a hospital.
The night of the alleged assault, a 50-year-old Riverview, New Brunswick man was detained on the spot.
According to Ouellette, “He was later released awaiting a future court appearance.”
Rodney Frenette was the man who was assaulted in the casino and eventually died, according to Krystel Frenette, the victim’s daughter.
