Ethan Falkowitz Car Accident: One identified among two Roslyn Middle School students killed in Long Island car accident; Amandeep Singh arrest & charges.
Two teenage boys were killed and two others were hospitalized in a terrible late-night crash in Jericho that was allegedly caused by an intoxicated driver who was going the wrong way.
The tragedy happened early on Wednesday night, just before 10:30 p.m., on North Broadway. Amandeep Singh, 34, struck the sedan carrying the four youngsters while operating a Dodge Ram in the southbound lanes of a highway, according to Nassau County police.
Two guys, both 14 years old, perished at the scene, while the other two lads, ages 16 and 17, were taken to the hospital with internal injuries. According to a statement the administration sent to parents on Thursday morning, the two murdered boys were in fact students at Roslyn Middle School.
Despite just being in middle school, at least one of the two guys who died was a talented tennis player on the varsity team of the nearby high school. He held a high national ranking and was well-liked. The four boys in the car appeared to be making their way home after dinner to celebrate their tennis match victory.
After being struck by the pickup truck, the boys’ car collided with another vehicle carrying a woman, 49, and a teenager, 16 years old. They were treated and then released.
The pickup’s driver, Singh, will likely be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and assault on Thursday.
