In Center Township on Sunday afternoon, a man from Pennsylvania passed away following a motorcycle accident.
A crash occurred on Sunday at around 3:00 p.m. on SR-172, as reported by OSP. Joseph Balistrieri, a 42-year-old from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, was driving a motorcycle when it veered off the right side of the road and flipped over.
According to reports, Balistrieri was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in him being thrown from the vehicle. Emergency services were called to the scene and he was transported to the hospital by ambulance. However, despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
OSP has reported that Balistrieri was not wearing a helmet during the crash. Troopers suspect that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The Oregon State Police (OSP) is issuing a reminder to all motorcyclists to ensure they are trained and sober before riding, and to wear a helmet while doing so.
The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, Lisbon Fire Department, and EMT Ambulance provided assistance on the scene.
