Qualin Campbell Obituary News: Colorado Man Held Hostage by Stranger Found Dead in Company Vehicle.
Before her husband was discovered dead, the wife of a Colorado man claimed her husband was being held hostage by an unknown person in his car. She is now asking authorities to explain why it took them so long to respond to her plea for assistance.
The bodies of two dead males were discovered in a parking lot by authorities responding to a gunshot, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
In a press statement, lawyer Harry Daniels named one of the men as father of two Qualin Campbell and labeled him as a victim of crime.
Thursday, Daniels and Talija Campbell appeared in front of the Colorado Springs Police Department’s offices to criticize officials for not giving their 911 call priority.
During a news conference, Talija said, “I received a text message from my husband appealing for help. “A picture of the suspect was also included in that communication. There were the words “911, please send help” after the image. I therefore dialed 911,” she stated.
According to Talija, she called 911 right afterwards and reported that she thought her husband was being held captive in his work vehicle by someone she thought might be homeless. However, she insisted that the call-taker’s voice lacked “any sense of urgency” to provide assistance.
“I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So I made the decision to take a car to the place he had indicated,” Talija stated.
Talija claimed she got to his location nearly an hour later and saw no cops present.
She saw Campbell “slumped over” in his car’s driver’s seat next to an unidentified man holding a rifle in his lap.
She remembered, “I fell to my knees and I started screaming,” before trying to revive him.
“I had to attempt to give my husband CPR as he was submerged in a pool of blood. That shouldn’t have been my responsibility, Talija remarked.
She remarked, “My spouse was the most selfless man. “I was very fortunate,”
According to a news statement, the 44-year-old David Karels was the other man who was found dead in Campbell’s car.
The incident is being looked into as a murder-suicide, according to the police.
