St. Catharines Car Accident: Woman killed in two-vehicle collision in area of Third St. Louth and Fifth Ave.
Following a two-vehicle incident in St. Catharines early on Friday morning, an 86-year-old woman has passed away and an 81-year-old man is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Around 7:45 a.m., emergency personnel went to the scene of a significant crash near Third Street and Fifth Avenue in Louth.
The St. Catharines woman, who was a passenger in a Toyota Camry, was declared dead at the scene, according to paramedics. The driver, a St. Catharines male, was brought to a hospital for treatment.
The Toyota was halted, according to investigators with the collision reconstruction team, and then it moved into the path of an approaching Dodge Ram pickup truck pulling a trailer.
According to police, no other people were hurt in the crash. At this time, no charges have been brought.
Roads in the neighborhood were shut down as police conducted their investigation, however they have already been restored.
