After a hit-and-run collision outside Guaranteed Rate Field the day before a White Sox game, the suspect motorist was charged with seven felonies late on Wednesday.
After being hit by the car and suffering significant injuries, four fans remained in the hospital.
The Back of the Yards resident Condelarious Garcia, 20, was charged with four felonies for failing to report a collision with injuries and four counts for aggravated reckless driving that resulted in bodily harm.
Additionally, he was issued traffic tickets for failure to reduce speed, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and expired registration in addition to being charged with one misdemeanor count of driving while license is suspended.
On Thursday, a bond hearing for Garcia is scheduled.
At 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the hit-and-run collision happened as the spectators crossed 35th Street at Shields Avenue to enter the White Sox vs. Texas Rangers game.
Four baseball fans were struck by a silver automobile as it sped east down 35th Street and struck them directly. Two males and two women pedestrians each sustained injuries.
Outside the ballpark, personal protection personnel gave help to three of the injured right away. Chicago Police Deputy Chief Fred Melean stated Tuesday night that the fourth vehicle overturned and landed in the sunroof of the vehicle that had struck them all.
