Motorcycle Accident Janesville, WI: 53-year-old Janesville man killed in two-vehicle collision near N. Pahl Road.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said that a motorcycle rider lost his life early on Thursday when an SUV crossed the centerline of a roadway in the county and hit his Harley-Davidson head-on.
The driver of the SUV was detained after the collision and was later charged with OWI and manslaughter by drunken operation of a vehicle, among other offenses, according to the statement. On Friday, the 47-year-old man is due to appear in court.
The 2017 Kia SUV struck the motorbike near N. Pahl Road at around 4:30 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office, while traveling east on W. Highway 11.
The motorbike rider was given CPR by emergency personnel, but he was declared dead at the scene. The identify of the 53-year-old Janesville resident has not been made public.
The SUV’s driver was transferred to Mercy Hospital for treatment after suffering minor injuries.
