Motorcycle Accident Warwick, RI: 22-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash involving a pickup truck on West Shore Road.
A pickup vehicle and a motorcycle crashed in Warwick on Thursday, killing a 22-year-old man.
Just before 7:30 a.m., according to police, a collision occurred on West Shore Road. According to the preliminary inquiry, the vehicle struck the approaching motorcycle as it was making a left turn onto Winifred Avenue.
Police claim that the motorcycle rider was knocked to the ground while being propelled rearward. He was brought to Rhode Island Hospital, where his death was officially declared. Police observed that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The man’s name is being kept a secret until his family has been informed.
The truck’s driver did not sustain any wounds. According to the police, the car was a Warwick Public Schools property.
Police said the crash is still under investigation, but speed and intoxication don’t seem to have been factors.
