Anthony Overton Obituary West Des Moines: Victim identified in fatal Tuesday morning crash at EP True Parkway.
Tuesday morning in West Des Moines, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of one guy. Anthony Overton, 25, of Des Moines, died, according to police, after crashing his motorcycle into a car.
A policeman noticed the motorcycle had no license plate. At around eight in the morning, it was moving westbound through the 1000 block of Railroad Avenue. In an effort to stop the motorcyclist, the cop flicked on his emergency lights and turned around.
Overton increased his speed significantly when the officer turned around his car, according to the police.
At that point, the officer made the decision to call off the chase, but he kept traveling west on Railroad Avenue. Moments later, according to police, he witnessed a motorcycle accident on EP True Parkway.
According to police, Overton ran a red light and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling south on Grand Avenue. When police and emergency personnel arrived, Overton had been knocked off the bike and was not breathing. He passed away soon after.
The car’s driver sustained minor wounds.
