Montanna Russell Locksley Car Accident: Teen girl killed in early Wednesday crash as ‘stolen’ car slams into a truck on the Hume Highway.
A 14-year-old girl is accused of driving the automobile that killed a 15-year-old girl when it collided with a truck in rural Victoria.
At before 8.30am on Wednesday, a truck and a stolen Holden Captiva crashed on the Hume Highway in Locksley. The front seat passenger, 15-year-old Montanna Russell, passed away there.
The alleged adolescent driver was transported to the hospital in stable condition after suffering upper body injuries.
A 12-year-old child who was also in the car was transferred in a stable condition to Royal Children’s Hospital.
On the highway, both the truck and the vehicle were headed north. It appears that the car struck the right side of the truck’s rear.
The Captiva was ‘driving erratically’ on the road, according to Superintendent Michael Layton, and police were looking for it before the collision.
