Denis Kealy Obituary News: Tribute of Former GAA Star Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision Near Dunboyne
At his burial this morning, the wife of a former Meath football player who died in a car accident described her husband’s charismatic nature.
Speaking at her husband Denis Kealy’s burial after he passed away in a single-vehicle accident last Saturday near Dunboyne, Charlene Kealy.
Denis, the managing director of KeaMac constructors, was a star player for the Dunshaughlin club and has represented the Royal county on numerous occasions.
“Denis had the heart of a lion,” continued Charlene, “he made such a difference to so many people, and his nature drew people to him like a magnet.”
“When I first met him, I thought he was a charming, reserved young man. I was thrilled to learn that we both had a deep love for the GAA.
He was my best friend, soul mate, and rock for the past 25 years, during which time we had numerous adventures together. His influence will last forever.
Fr. Sean Henry, PP of Dunshaughlin had already remembered Denis’s demeanor on the football field.
In front of a crowded chapel, he declared, “If he received a belt or a heavy tackle, he didn’t react; he just carried on. That was the way he lived; if there was something that needed to be done, his approach was, “Just do it.”
How romantic is it that He and Charlene got married in Los Angeles after getting engaged in New York?
Denis was a contented, well-liked, and, for the most part, quiet man who led a full and fulfilling life. He had a calming effect on everyone around him.
“There is no better man than Denis to talk to about it if God ever needs an extension to heaven.”
