Amelia Mazeikis and D’shaun Tudela Obituary News – Car Accident: Recent Schaumburg High School graduates killed in Hoffman Estates car accident.
On their way to work on Saturday morning, two high school sweethearts who had just graduated were murdered in a collision in the north suburban area, according to family members.
According to the police, the three-vehicle collision took place in Hoffman Estates at around 8:52 a.m. at Higgins and Barrington roads.
Both the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman, and the passenger, a man, were taken to nearby hospitals where they were both declared dead, according to the police. They were both 18 years old.
They were subsequently identified as Amelia Mazeikis and D’shaun Tudela by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Officer. Family relatives claim that Mazeikis and Tudela, who graduated from Schaumburg High School in May, had been dating for three years.
According to the police, two further groups engaged in the collision were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still being investigated, but according to the police, alcohol may have been involved. The cause of the crash was not disclosed.
Authorities withheld additional details about the collision until later.
