Bradford Dirt Bike Accident: Darien teen killed in Wednesday afternoon crash in Rock County.
A dirt bike rider from Darien, age 16, was killed by a semi-truck on Wednesday while passing through the Carver-Roehl County Park entry in the Town of Bradford.
According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. as the 74-year-old Janesville man operating the semi pulling a flatbed trailer passed the park’s entrance.
The adolescent hit the passenger side of the semi as it was leaving the park while it was traveling north on South Carvers Rock Road.
Despite the efforts of Clinton and Beloit fire and EMS personnel, the boy was subsequently declared dead at the scene.
The 16-year-old’s name, according to the authorities, may be made public in the future by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Crash Reconstruction Team from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance with the investigation.
