Danville Car Accident Camino Tassajara: Danville police chase leads to fiery crash injuring at least five people.
Early on Saturday morning, a police chase in Danville ended in a violent wreck that injured five persons, according to the authorities.
According to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started just after one in the morning when a Danville police officer attempted to stop a car for running a red light at Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver did not stop but instead led the officer on a pursuit while traveling eastward on Diablo Road and onto Blackhawk Road.
The car struck another vehicle and jumped another red light at Camino Tassajara Road and Blackhawk Road. The suspect vehicle then rolled onto its roof and caught fire.
Officers managed to save five passengers from the flaming automobile, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver sustained serious injuries, and they were both rushed to a hospital.
The two people who were riding in the second car weren’t hurt.
Around midday, Crow Canyon Road at Camino Tassajara in Danville was reopened, according to Danville police.
