The rider who died in a deadly motorcycle accident on Scalp Avenue on Saturday has been named by Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees.
According to Lees, 53-year-old Windber resident Kirk Young was thrown from the motorcycle after it collided with another car in the 1600 block of Scalp Avenue.
Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Young was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Conemaugh Hospital, according to the authorities.
Young allegedly sustained numerous blunt force traumas, and Lees observed that he wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
His death has been declared unintentional, according to officials, and a crash reconstruction is being done to ascertain what exactly caused the collision.
